For most people buying a Yacht or Motor Vessel is possibly the second most expensive item you will purchase. So before parting with your hard earned cash have it surveyed. The vessel you considered to be the bargain of the year may not be as good as it looks. Also it is not uncommon for Insurance Companies and Finance Houses to request a current Survey Report
Insurance Survey
Many Insurance Companies require vessels to be surveyed in order to off set their risk. It is not unknown for Insurance Companies to request a vessels as little as 5 years old to be surveyed. We are fully familiar with insurance company requirements
Pre-
When buying a new vessel don’t assume it is devoid of defects. We recently surveyed a new vessel which had been used as a demonstrator and discovered 2 serious defects and 22 minor defects.
Accident & Damage Surveys
It is unfortunate but the unexpected may happen and your vessel may be damaged through no fault of your own. The first thing to do is to contact your insurers and then contact Northern Yacht Surveyors. We can help with the initial damage report through to final acceptance of the vessel following repairs.
